The Met Gala 2017 is finally here! Which means that us normal people can only watch our favorite celebrities from behind the screen while they walk down the red carpet looking amazing. And we come back to talk all about the best & worst dressed. But what truly happens at a Met Gala? Beats me! But one thing everyone always talks about, are the dresses!
SELENA GOMEZ, my love.
First, you can’t disagree that the best part of any celebrity event is Selena Gomez. She walks the red carpet with an all Coach look which makes sense since her recent partnership with Creative Director, Stuart Vevers. Her dress is delicately detailed and embellished with beads for giving a youthful & nostalgic impression. She wears Coach’s tiny Kisslock Frame clutch with the bottom of her bag embossed with the phrase “Love Yourself First”. Now, I don’t know if that makes us want to love ourselves or love her more!
I think she really lives up to that phrase “Love yourself first”, especially tonight. Although her and Abel (The Weekend) look adorable together, she looks just as amazing alone. I know I’m looking into this too much, but I think she’s giving a powerful message just alone from her red carpet appearance.
She has the most adorable pictures with Abel, and has some where she’s working the red carpet like a strong independent woman! You work it, Selena!
RIHANNA.
The next celebrity on the list is Rihanna! I think anyone who first sees this look will automatically question her stylists judgement. But I’m honestly kinda upset that I don’t get to see her look in person because look at this! While I’m trying to figure out what she’s wearing, I can’t stop thinking about how amazing she looks. Even though it’s not a normal person’s preference for a dress, you can’t disagree that she’s turning heads. I don’t know if she’s getting attention for her but this women is fierce and daring. I think she’s one of the only celebrities that truly take on the challenge of trying crazy looks but still looking fabulous. But I can already see the tons of memes for her look.

KYLIE JENNER.
Of course we have to mention Kylie Jenner.
Whether you love her or hate her, you know that she always makes an amazing appearance. She wears a sheer embellished Versace dress with platinum blonde hair specifically for the night because Donatella Versace apparently told her to do that for the look!
If that’s not dedication I don’t know what is. Come on, I’m a hair blogger so dyeing hair doesn’t come easy. I also think it’s refreshing to see a picture of Kylie Jenner where she’s actually smiling!
Besides the best/worst dress talk, let’s talk about what actually happens at a MET Gala. No one knows! Infact, it’s supposed to be kept a secret and celebrities are banned to post on social media after the red carpet. New York Times spilled that after the red carpet, there is a tour of the exhibition, a cocktail party, and some entertainment. The entertainment last year was hosted by The Weekend, but I think he’s a little busy with Selena so this year, Katy Perry took the stage for now. This event is just a fun gathering for the guests to enjoy! One of the most important parts about these types of events are the brands and dresses since it’s a huge marketing event. That’s mainly why everyone dishes about the Best/Worst Dressed after the red carpet appearances because that’s really all we can talk about since we’re just so NORMAL.
Overall, as you can probably tell, us normal people are not missing as much. It’s just a Met Gala with our favorite artists walking down the red carpet while looking amazing. Okay, who am I kidding? We are missing out!
