There are so many reasons why you are anxious and stressed out all the time. One reason could be because of the pressures that surround us. I’m sure there are many things that revolve around our everyday lives that can be the cause to our anxiety. However, I think it can be entirely because of us! Here are things you may be doing that are the source of your anxiety and stress!
I know what anxiety feels like. Everyone experiences it differently. I experienced anxiety especially in social situations. It’s not constant anxiety, it comes and goes in all types of situations. I start to move my shoulders inward to close my body, I become very reserved, my palms start to sweat uncontrollably, my heart and breathing start to change, I start to lose my thoughts and start thinking negatively, and I end up standing funny, and realize in that whole time that I was focusing on my posture, only a second has gone by.
I also for some reason forget how to speak english properly and end up having an awkward conversation with someone. I am a very chatty person so if I’m not talking too much, you should know that there’s something wrong with me. And in times when I am anxious, I spend more of the times in my own thoughts than engaged in the conversation. You may be asking yourself the same thing I’ve asked myself: “I used to be such a social person, why have I become so anti-social, reserved, and.. scared?”
I’m still trying to deal with my own anxiety but have experienced a huge improvement. Here’s why you may be experiencing anxiety:
Unhealthy Lifestyle
I ate so horribly and am trying every day not to go back to my previous habits of binge watching gossip girl while munching on chips and candy.
Lack of Exercise
Running is a great way of letting off some steam. I’ve been going to yoga for the past month and it has been a huge relief and breath of fresh air. Yoga is all about releasing your negativity and embracing acceptance within yourself.
Depression
This is a HUGE cause to your anxiety. Usually depression and anxiety come along together. I wish I could tell you how to overcome depression and anxiety, but it all starts with you and your decision to live today with a happy and productive mindset. Stress
I don’t know what you deal with through a daily basis, but I can say that everyone faces challenges that we allow to consume us. There are so many things that we stress and worry over like our job, business, school, relationship, family, future, health, and etc. But what if I told you to simply, just stop worrying. You choose to worry, so stop stressing yourself because stress is something that is made up and all in the mind. Treat stress & worry as if it doesn’t exist. Doesn’t mean you should avoid the problems in your life but instead to react differently. You would be a much happier person.
Low Self-Esteem
THIS IS THE MOST RELATABLE FOR ME. Like I said, anytime I start to feel anxious, I close my shoulders inward and start to be more reserved. I also tend to cover my body and chest with my hair because for some reason, I feel the most exposed in my upper body area. Maybe it’s because I’m so used to covering my upper body with my hair (Is that weird or something?). Anyways, dealing with low self-esteem and constantly questioning your ability and potential can be a cause for your anxiety. So stop putting yourself down, and stop allowing people’s views and opinions to affect you.
I’m truly sorry for whatever you’re going through, and I will never be able to understand your situation, but I can tell you that you can get through this and overcome it. Try stepping out of your shell, try overcoming your anxiety, and try new things that make you feel at peace while getting to know yourself. Sometimes you need to take a break from your current reality and the people in your life to help clear your mind.
